O Holy Night
Caryn rocked this arrangement of O Holy Night in our church service today. We actually recorded this video last week at her voice students’ recital but I wanted to wait to post it after she performed it for our congregation. Playing the piano here is the wonderful, Judith Bible.
We had a wonderful church service today! Caryn not only sang this song, but she also led a 8-12 year-old girls’ choir in a song with two-part harmony, violin, and piano. The girls really worked hard and it was excellent.
What was my job? Well, I was the wrangler. Caryn was on the stand the whole time so I tried to keep Valerie quiet despite Kent having eaten all her snacks; we hadn’t even started the meeting yet (we had to get there early because three wards combined for one meeting and we wanted a good seat).
She was losing it toward the end, and I found five cell-phone shaped erasers in the diaper bag. I gave them to her (all of them) and she immediately put one to her ear and started to say “Lo-oh-oh” over and over again. It took me a minute to realize what she was doing, “Lo-oh-oh” is her version of “Hello” but she was following the inflections of our voice when we answer the phone! I couldn’t believe it! It is the first word I have heard her say, but the timing was not ideal.
